Good to know
Questions, answered
Everything women ask us before their first event. If yours isn't here, just ask.
I've never played pickleball. Will I be lost?
Not at all. No experience is required. Every event starts with an instructor-led session that walks you through the basics — how to hold the paddle, how to serve, how scoring works — before anyone plays a point. Most of the room is brand new to it.
Can I come alone?
Yes, and many women do. You'll be welcomed at check-in, paired up during play, and there's plenty of time to talk over refreshments. Coming solo is the most common way women join us.
What should I wear?
Something you can move in and feel good in. Athletic wear, a tennis skirt, or a matching set all work. Bring clean court shoes — no heels or open-toed shoes on the court. Please note: there will be required colors depending on the event date and theme — check your event page and confirmation email for the specific dress code before you arrive. Outside of the required color, pink is always encouraged, never required.
Do I need to bring a paddle?
No. Paddles and balls are provided, and everything listed in the ticket details is included in the price.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes — guests must be 21 or older, since cocktails and champagne are served.
What if it rains, or you have to cancel?
Our events are held indoors, so weather doesn't affect play. If we ever have to cancel or reschedule an event, you'll be emailed right away and offered either a full refund or a transfer to the new date — your choice.
Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?
Yes. Tickets are non-refundable, but they are transferable up to 48 hours before the event. Email hello@femininealonetime.app with your name and the new guest's name and email, and we'll move the ticket over at no cost.
Can I bring a friend?
Please do. Choose your ticket quantity at checkout and you'll be asked for each guest's name and email so everyone gets their own ticket and event details.
Where are events held?
We gather across Chicagoland. Our September date is at 2121 N Clybourn Ave BLDG 1, Lincoln Park, IL 60614. We're based in Chicago, IL, and women coming from Portage, Valparaiso, Munster and the rest of Northwest Indiana are very much part of this community.
How do I get my ticket after I pay?
A confirmation email with your QR code ticket, a downloadable PDF, and a calendar file arrives right after checkout. If you don't see it, check your spam or promotions folder, or use the resend button on the confirmation page.
Still deciding?
Tickets are transferable — if life happens, you can pass your seat to a friend.
